Q & a

Where will I be able to buy a pair of LOC waders?

You will be able to buy them on our website and in selected partner shops. You´ll find the shops here.

What is the optimal way to dress inside my LOC Wader?

This is an important question with a simple answer - Wool. Its moisture-wicking, insulating, temperature-regulating, odour-resistant, breathable and elastic qualities are simply perfect to wear under your LOC waders.

UNDERWEAR - We strongly recommend using Merino Wool underwear (or no underwear at all) under your Merino Wool long-johns. Never use cotton based underwear, they will get sweaty and uncomfortable after a while.

LONG-JOHN´S - In order to get the most out of your LOC Waders you should dress in a thin Merino Wool long-john regardless of temperature or conditions. Nothing else is needed even in the coldest and warmest day!

ON YOUR FEET - Since our neoprene feet are made of a slightly thinner (but much stronger and more durable) pre-compressed neoprene most users will need to compensate with wool socks on the inside in order to stay warm and cosy. And again, wool is by far the best material we have tried. So buy yourself a couple of wool socks so you can layer up.

IMPORTANT! We recommend that the wool socks you use, should end a centimeter or so above the gravel guard. If they are longer they will get to far into the 3-D Mesh area and you will get too warm and start sweating on the lower part of your legs.

!!!DO NOT USE COTTON BASED UNDERGARMENTS AS THEY WILL ATTRACT MOIST!!!

I'd like to hear how the condensation doesn't form a puddle at your feet?

Good question. The condensation sticks to the outer fabric and stays there, meaning it won´t travel south to your feet. And thanks to the patented 3-D Mesh Tech System the condensation never get in contact with your body. Read more about it here.

I'd like to know how quickly they dry out when turned inside out?

Quick is the answer. If you turn your LOC waders inside out after a days fishing and leave them hanging, they´ll be dry and ready to go in a few hours. (Depending on the temperature where you hang them).

How do I find my size?

Finding the right size is easy. Just go to our size chart and take your measurments according to the model. Important here is to take your measures body near, in your underwear is perfect. Once you got your measurements compare them to the size chart and try to get as close as you can to the numbers on each of your measurments.

What are the waders like to wear on a really hot day?

This is a valid question. Walking on land on a really hot day in waders will make you hot, that goes for all brands of waders, including ours. But, what we have experienced is that the constant airflow created by the 3-D mesh pushes air around helping to cool you down as you move. But the big positive, is that if you unzip the wader as you walk, you cool down really quickly (and if you want maximum airflow you un-buckle the belt as well). The quick cool down is due to the fact that you only wear a thin merino wool undergarment as a first and only layer of insulation. And if you really feel that you need instant cool down, just drop the waders down to your ankles for a few seconds. So to sum things up, you are going to get hot on a real hot summers day, but the 3-D mesh makes for an effective inner climate control.

Can I use the waders in saltwater?

ABSOLUTELY! The LOC wader is in fact made to be used in saltwater environments. The outer fabric in our waders is military graded and used in heavy duty, highly technical drysuits for scuba diving by military forces around the world. So rest assured, if the military put their trust in this material, you can too. But, as always, you should give the waders a good rinse with fresh water after using them in the salt water. This will prolong the life of the waders.

Do I need to dry my LOC Waders after using them?

The answer is YES!. If you have the possibility you should always dry your waders out after fishing (This goes for all waders regardless of material or brand).

It´s a simple process, just turn your waders inside out and hang them so that they get a lot of air. A dry inside ensures your LOC wader will work optimally again the next day.

And if you are not fishing again, just dry the outside before storing them away for your next trip.

The LOC Waders cost more than ordinary waders. Why?

True. Our waders are like no other. Even the price tag reflects this. And yes, our waders have two legs and an upper part like any ordinary wader, but this is where the similarities stop.

When we set out on this project, we agreed on one thing. We should use the best materials and components available in our waders. No compromises, only the best of the best would pass the eye of the needle.

Secondly, putting our waders together takes longer as everything is done by skilled artisans, by hand. From the tailoring to applying seam tape (even the rivets fastening the hooks on the gravel guards are applied by hand). Why? Because this is the only way we can control the process and keep the quality level we strive for.

Add to this the patented 3-D Mesh Tech™ System - a revolutionary system found in no other wader today.

Can I wash my waders?

Yes, absolutely. Just detach the 3-D Mesh liner and take it out of the wader. Then put the waders and the liner in a batch tub (or similar) with lukewarm water and add a tiny amount of mild detergent. Continue to gently wash the waders and the liner by hand. When you are done rinse with plenty of cold water and hang them to dry.
NOTE! DO NOT WASH YOUR WADERS OR THE LINER IN A WASHING MACHINE. AND DON´T DRY THEM IN A TUMBLE DRYER. NO IRONING!.
